FAQ

How long will therapy take?

Like individuals, each course of treatment is different. Each person moves at his or her own pace, depending on a number of factors. Your treatment plan will be evaluated regularly to ensure that your therapy goals are being met.

Why should I come to counseling?

Counseling is a great opportunity to learn about yourself. It is a resource for dealing with a variety of issues, from every day stressors and past traumas to simply discussing an event or troubling situation. The counseling relationship will help you develop strategies to better cope with the difficult times you may be facing.

What can I expect in a counseling session?

Each session lasts between 30 and 50 minutes. We will discuss your concerns and present problems. Together we will determine how you have successfully solved problems in the past and incorporate new problem solving techniques to help you live your life to the fullest. As an active therapy participant, your work and input will make the counseling process effective and meaningful.

What can I gain from counseling?

Counseling offers a number of benefits. You will create a toolbox of skills to help you draw from your strengths and deal more effectively with problems you may face in the future. Counseling offers insight into problems and behaviors, and will help you understand why things develop as they do. By engaging in counseling you will be more likely to cope effectively with life’s issues in everyday settings, helping you to function at a higher level.
